Jonathan Jones stands down as manager of Pontypridd TownJonathan Jones has stood down from his post as first-team manager of Pontypridd Town. Jones led the Dragons to a second-place finish, earning them a place in the Cymru Premier after obtaining the Tier One Licence. The club have cited ‘family commitments’ as the reason behind his departure from the USW Sport Park hot seat. The former Welsh Cup winning Prestatyn Town boss is presiding over a strong side at Cae-y-Castell and many are tipping the Silkmen to be right up there come the end of the season. Flint's local rivals Connah's Quay Nomads could still overtake them before the end of the campaign but the fact that Gibson's side currently sit higher in the table than the back to back Cymru Premier champions is an achievement in itself.
